Don't be alarmed if you see a large teddy bear wandering around roads in Dryden and Sioux Lookout this weekend.
The Ontario Health Coalition is taking the over-stuffed animal on a tour across the province in its campaign against privatized Medicare.
Executive Director Natalie Mehra says in some province's, certain hospital services have been contracted out to private clinics and they are charging hundreds and even thousands of dollars for surgeries or diagnostic tests.
Mehra warns Canada's public health care system is under threat by private profit-seeking clinics that want to bill for every kind of service.
She says they have launched the campaign to protect public health care, noting their slogan is "We Can't Bear to Lose Medicare".
The tour will be in Dryden on Saturday at King Street and Whyte Avenue at 2:00pm.
The Sioux Lookout stop will be on Sunday at Front Street and 5th Avenue at 2:00pm.
