An Eden Prairie, Minnesota man is thankful he and his cousin are alive after being stranded on a Lake of the Woods island for three days.
Bob Brott says after their boat overturned on July 31st, they managed to hang on and paddle to shore.
It wasn't until a few nights later the RCMP found them.
Brott admits there were some tough lessons learned, stressing his biggest mistake was not telling anyone where he was going, and when he was going to return.
He says being without food and water for that time forced him to come to terms with his own mortality and strengthened his faith in God, noting he prayed for his safety so he could get back to his loved ones.
Brott is embarrassed by the ordeal, but hopes it can raise safety awareness for other boaters. (Photo supplied)
