Dryden Police say they questioned a 23-year-old man earlier this week after finding him disoriented in the downtown area.
Officers later discovered the man was from Quebec and staying at a local hotel.
Police say they went to his hotel room and found 46 grams of marijuana.
The man was taken into police custody.
However, during a court appearance yesterday, it was determined the man needed a psychiatric assessment.
He was eventually taken to the Kenora Psychiatric Facility for treatment.
The man had no prior criminal record.
