A new mining engineering technician program is gaining rave reviews.
The course is a partnership between Confederation College and Northern College and is now available at campuses across the region.
Confederation College President Jim Madder says it allows students to stay in their home communities for two years to receive training with the support of the Haileybury School of Mines.
Madder says students can then go on to study at Queen’s University for a degree in mining engineering.
Madder sees a great need for the program in northwestern Ontario.
