Dryden Senator Lynn Beyak is pleased the Senate has agreed to make the third Saturday in September National Hunting, Trapping and Fishing Heritage Day.
Beyak sponsored and guided Bill C-501 through the Senate.
The new law recognizes the important role that hunting, fishing and trapping have had in the development of Canada as a nation, and how important these activities remain for our economy and recreation.
Beyak says the new law will honour those in northern Ontario who have hunted, fished or trapped for work or pleasure for hundreds of years.
