The Trudeau Government has introduced legislation aimed at curbing workplace harassment and violence.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MP and Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, Patti Hajdu says the legislation will cover federal and federally regulated workplaces.
Hajdu says the proposed law will cover the full range of harassment from teasing to physical and sexual violence, which must be monitored by management.
She notes the legislation will enhance prevention, protection, and support when workplace violence takes place.
Hajdu says the bill, once passed, will require employers to take action and protect those who make complaints from retaliation.
