It looks as if just two of the three main party leaders will be in Kenora next week for the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association Conference.
Both Premier Kathleen Wynne and NDP leader Andrea Horwath are on the agenda for next Thursday.
NOMA Past-President Dave Canfield says they had been hoping that all three party leaders would be in attendance.
Canfield says he has a number of tough questions, including a major infrastructure deficit facing local communities.
He also questions how the government can boost spending, when programs and services aren’t properly funded today.
Canfield says they will continue to push their proposal to increase the harmonized sales tax by one percent to help fund infrastructure spending.
The NOMA Conference runs from May 2nd to 4th.
It’s unclear at this point if there will be representation from the Ontario Cabinet, as a provincial election is looming.
