The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is reporting significant enrolment increases across the board.
The numbers found in the 2017-2018 Enrolment Report also indicate that the board will not be eligible for the Declining Enrolment Grant for the first time in its history.
Director of Education Sean Monteith mentions a notable increase is at Queen Elizabeth District High School with 508 students compared to 396 in the 2013-2014 year.
Sioux Narrows Public School enrolment is also at a historic high of 31 students.
Monteith also mentions major increases at Lillian Berg School in Vermilion Bay which saw 22 more students and all Kenora elementary schools as well.
Notable increases include:
-Beaver Brae Grades 7/8 increased enrolment by 17 students.
-Golden Learning Centre in Balmertown is 17 students over budget.
-Enrolment in Senior Kindergarten was 12 higher than projected at 296 students.
