Disabled veterans who have been in a legal battle with the federal government for years say its high time their lawsuits were settled in the wake of the $10.5 million settlement with Omar Khadr.
Gerry Kovacs of the Veterans Accountability Commission says the time to be patient is long gone and the amount of money given Khadr is 30 times greater than any veteran would receive and would have helped 262 veterans who are disabled.
Another commission member, veteran Stephane Beardwood concedes Khadr may be a victim but it was his family who turned him into a terrorist and, in his view, caused whatever injustice he endured.
