If approved, it will allow for quick and timely access to patient records for health-care providers.
The Dryden Regional Health Centre is working with other hospitals to create an electronic patient database.
With patients approval, all medical information would be entered into a system, that other providers can access in case of emergency or surgery.
Spokesperson Tim Smith says their committee will meet with a consultant next week to discuss the next step in the proposal.
He adds the Province is behind a regional approach.
