The provincial government plans to launch a new agency to promote tourism in Northern Ontario later this year.
The province scrapped the Northern Tourism Marketing Company (NTMC) earlier this year.
The Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce has been one of the groups consulted to form a new organization.
President Tannis Drysdale says her concerns are that the province provides adequate funding for tourism marketing and an agency is formed to respond to tourist outfitters and communities throughout the region.
