The Ontario Energy Board has moved quickly on legislation passed at Queen’s Park banning hydro electricity companies from disconnecting customers behind in their payments this winter.
The O-E-B has also ordered utilities to restore power to any customer without power or using a device restricting their electricity use.
Utilities also have to waive the reconnection fees normally charged.
The O-E-B says there are 930 customers across the province who were disconnected this winter.
Another 3,000 on load limiter devices.
