A Platinum Jubilee is being celebrated by the War Amps organization.
It was 100-years-ago when Canadian soldiers launched the program after the First World War to assist war amputees.
Spokesperson Jamie Lund says the service carried over to the Second World War and hasn’t slowed down since.
Lund says their programs have grown from assisting war amputees, whom they still serve, to all amputees, including children.
She notes to mark the special Anniversary, a number of initiatives will be launched this year.
Lund says they have released a Commemorative envelope depicting 100-years of service, which is available at local Canada Post offices.
