The Ontario Secondary Teachers Federation is hoping to hold a strike vote by the end of next week.
About 200 High School teachers with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board have been without a contract since the beginning of September.
Local Union President Dave Rhind says they hope the strike vote will move talks along.
The OSSTF has already asked a Labor Board Conciliator for a “no board report” which allows the possibility of job action should contract talks fail.
2 days of talks are scheduled for February 25th and 26th.
