“Climate change is real”.
That’s the admission of Ontario’s new Energy Minister.
Greg Rickford is defending the government’s decision to scrap the Carbon Tax, saying the PC government has a different philosophy on how they deal with the issue.
The Kenora-Rainy River MPP says they are joined by Saskatchewan on their stance on climate change.
He says they both have an interest in making sure resource projects thrive and they create economic opportunities.
Rickford stresses their plan will ensure that Indigenous voices will be heard and the best of interests of northwestern Ontario will be taken into consideration.
Rickford calls the Cap and Trade program a costly way to do business, claiming it makes life less affordable for Ontario residents.
