The Minister of Natural Resources is looking into the possibility of opening up more cottage lots on crown land.
Bill Mauro notes it’s going to take a long time to do that.
Mauro says opening up lots will involve working with other ministries and conducting environmental assessments.
Meantime, Mauro is trying to ease the fear of the Northwestern Ontario Sportsmen’s Alliance.
The Alliance says they are concerned fish and wildlife management isn’t a priority for the government after there was no mention of funding in a letter from the Premier to Mauro.
Mauro says just because it wasn’t in the letter doesn’t mean there won’t be funding.
The 2014 priorities letter went out to each cabinet minister on September 25th.
