70-percent of students in the district who wrote grade 10-literacy tests last year passed both the reading and writing components.
Janet Wilkenson is a Superintendant with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and says they are looking to get closer to the provincial average of 75-percent.
Students in smaller schools struggled with the tests, finishing well below the provincial average.
Beaver Brae Secondary was the only facility to rank above the Provincial average.
The board is now preparing kids for the next round taking place October 23, 24.
