The National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls is now into its second year.
But only this past week, did it address a parliamentary committee on Indigenous people for the first time.
Chief Commissioner Marion Buller admits to MP’s that its been a challenging first year.
Buller says for many people, their progress has been too slow, but notes they want to take their time to do everything right.
She notes commissioners have meet with and taken advice from survivors, family members, elders and various organizations.
Buller says they are now preparing for a series of community hearings, including one in Thunder Bay, in the coming months with more to follow next year.
