A state of emergency has been declared in the remote northern community of Kashechewan First Nation.
Ice build up on the James Bay has once again resulted in flooding concerns.
Residents have been evacuated to a number of municipalities including Thunder Bay, Wawa, Kapuskasking and Smooth Rock Falls.
There’s now about 49-people taking up residence in the Lakehead.
It’s not clear when the evacuees will be allowed to return home.
This has become a yearly event and the Nishnawbe Aski Nation last month promised to look at possibly relocating Kashechewan.
