The Ontario government is making an abortion pill, intended to terminate an early pregnancy, free to women beginning next Thursday.
Women wanting Mifegymiso will be able to obtain it with a prescription from a pharmacy.
Its been available in Canada since January, but costs between $300-$450.
The Liberals had announced plans in the Spring budget to make the pill free.
Health Minister Eric Hoskins says they are simply safeguarding a women’s right to choose by providing them with access to a safe and non-invasive alternative to surgical abortions at no cost.
