Motorists Not Obeying "Move Over" Law

Eight motorists in northwestern Ontario facing new charges for not moving over for emergency personnel working on the side of the road.

They were nabbed as part of a recent Provincial Police "Move Over" enforcement blitz.

Motorists are required to slow down and move over as safely as possible when approaching and passing police, fire, ambulance and tow trucks on the side of the road.

They can face up to $2,000 for not following the rules.
