An Australian rural health expert will lead the new Northern Medical School as it gets off the ground.
Dr. Roger Strasser will oversee construction and program development and will also guide the first crop of students through to graduation.
The med school, slated to open in the fall of 2004, will be shared by Laurentian University in Sudbury and Lakehead in Thunder Bay.
Strasser has developed policies on training for rural practice and using information technology to imporve rural health care.
