People just aren’t getting the message about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
That’s according to Sergeant Shelley Garr with the Ontario Provincial Police in the North West region.
Garr has the regional results from the recent Festive RIDE campaign and says that Provincial Police in the North West region charged 48-individuals with impaired driving and issued 11 warn-range suspensions
Garr also says that they want community members to make a commitment to not drive while impaired while also calling 911 if they see someone who is driving under the influence.
Province-wide, 610 drivers were charged with impaired driving and six people lost their lives in related incidents.
