Derek Sweet-Coulter isn’t going anywhere.
The coach and general manager of the English River Miners has inked a new three year contract extension.
Sweet-Coulter inherited a team that went 10-45-5 in 2014-2015 finishing last in the SIJHL standings.
He led his team to the second round of the playoffs in his first year behind the bench and finished with a franchise record of 31-wins this season.
The Miners Board of Directors says the amount of hard work Derek has dedicated to the program both on and off the ice has not gone unnoticed, noting the decision to extend his contract was an easy and deserving one.
Sweet-Coulter says he’s very excited to be a part of the Miners organization for the next three years as they continue to build and develop a solid program.
He says without the hard work of his players and staff both on and off the ice every day, he wouldn’t be in this position.
