MARILYN HELEN RUNGE – February 26, 1963 to November 1, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn. A wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend. Marilyn fought a courageous fight of cancer on and off since 2006. Marilyn had many talents and interesting careers from being a server at multiple restaurants to building boats with her own two hands. Her passion for caring for people was heightened after her education to become a Personal Support Worker. She touched the lives of many people with her natural ability to comfort others. People always thought to contact Marilyn first when needing a helping hand, an ear to listen, and shoulder to cry on. She was the life and bond of family and friends. Her passions were her two grandchildren Vaughn and Luke. She enjoyed going fishing but these fishing trips always turned into boat rides in the SS Minnow. Roger and Marilyn enjoyed camping with family and friends. Marilyn loved going 4-wheeling, chicken hunting, anything that Minnitaki had to offer.
Marilyn is predeceased by her parents William and Helen, step-father Carlyle, brother Ken, father-in-law Leon and brother-in-law Dale. She is survived by her brothers Wilf (Shirley), Art (Barb), John (Donalda), Wayne (Karen) and sister Sharon. Marilyn is also survived by her mother-in-law Lillian, brother-in-law Jim and sister-in-law’s Penny and Sandy.
She will be greatly missed by her husband and longtime friend Roger, her son Ryan and wife Marissa and their two children Vaughn and Luke and her son Jason and wife Nicole. Marilyn also leaves behind many extended family members and very precious friends. She will be greatly missed but we all know she is close to our hearts and watching over us.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Wayne Toews officiating. Interment will follow in the Minnitaki Cemetery.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DRHC – Oncology through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON, P8N 2X3
