Marc “Smiley” Nolin
November 6, 1965 – February 1, 2018
In loving memory of Marc “Smiley” Nolin, age 52 who passed away on February 1, 2018 at the Dryden Regional Health Center.
Marc was born in Winnipeg, MB on November 6, 1965.
His family moved to Thunder Bay in 1967 and then to Dryden, in 1980.
As an adult he lived in Thunder Bay, British Columbia and finally resided in Dryden.
Marc was a great mechanic and could fix anything from buses to weed wackers and anything in between. He worked many years at St. Aubin Saw Shop and most recently for Hutchison Bus Lines.
‘Smiley’ is survived by his mother Marie, brothers Roger (Susan), and Wayne, their children and numerous other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Art Nolin.
Smiley was a very giving person who loved to help others, proven by the large number of friends he had. The most important person though was his mother Marie, whom he talked to weekly. Smiley was a football fan and even bigger NASCAR fan who enjoyed watching the big games and races with friends. Anyone who knew him would know that NASCAR was his favourite and he had all the memorabilia to prove it, he was especially proud of his NASCAR model collection. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping as well.
Marc had an infectious smile (hence the nickname) that made everyone around him smile too. His bright and glorious smile will be missed but our hearts are warm knowing that his smile is shining down on us.
We are grateful to Dr. Cortens for the compassionate care he provided over the years. We would also like to thank Lucy Notte for her ongoing kindness and support.
Please donate a smile to someone you love in memory of Smiley.
No visitation or service will be held in Dryden, a celebration function will be held during the summer.
The Funeral will be held at at St Agnes Parish, 1019 Brown St., Thunder Bay, Ont., P7E 2L7 att 12:10 pm on Thursday Feb.15
