Lucy Lippert (née Burgstaler)
With great sadness we announce that Lucy Lippert passed away peacefully on Feb 8th, 2018 at Toronto General Hospital.
Lucy Lippert was born June 24th, 1922 in Sochocin Poland. The eldest child of parents Hulda and Wilhelm, she is predeceased by her husband Ernest, brothers Heinrich, Eduard and Johann, and sister Irene. She is survived by sisters Elfriede and Melida, son Emil and grandsons Corbin and Ryan.
Lucy married Ernest Lippert on October 16th, 1948. By their own description, they formed a team of “workhorses” striving to better their own lives and the lives of their family. Lucy was the visionary, driving force behind that effort.
She enjoyed seeing the fruits of her hard work whether it was in the garden, in the kitchen or in the homes she helped to build.
Lucy had a strong faith and was a dedicated member of the Lutheran Church in Dryden. Though she had faced many hardships in her life, she believed in the power of prayer and never lost faith in God.
Lucy loved her grandsons. She had fond memories of her own grandparents and always tried to pay forward the wisdom and kindness that she had received as a child. Her grandsons were by her side at the end.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moffat Chapel of Stevens Funeral Homes with Pastor James Wood officiating.
