The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are one win away from another Bill Salonen Cup Championship.
Ted Davis scored his second game winning overtime goal of the Final to propel the Ice Dogs to a 4-3 win over visiting Thunder Bay Friday night in front of more than 1,000 fans.
Davis snapped a shot past Brandon Bodnar 8:26 into the extra frame to score his second goal of the game.
The Ice Dogs thought they had the game won in regulation but Brendan Gillis scored with 4.8 seconds left to tie the contest.
The red light didn’t go on and Landon Pavlisin and the rest of Dryden GM argued intensely that the puck never crossed.
Trevor Kavanaugh and Conner Mowatt scored in regulation.
The Ice Dogs now lead the SIJHL Final 3-2, With Game 6 Saturday in Thunder Bay.
