The Dryden Ice Dog’s bid to move to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League has taken a hit.
Hockey Northwestern Ontario has voted to not allow the Ice Dogs leave the Superior International Junior Hockey League.
The 7 member panel voted against the move on Saturday in Thunder Bay.
Ice Dog officials say they will appeal the decision.
Dryden has been looking to move to the MJHL due to concerns about the growth of the SIJHL.
Officials have stated it’s in the best interests of the organization at a business standpoint.
Hockey Northwestern Ontario has also denied permission to the Borderland Thunder to move to Manitoba.
