Here they come! Another set of racers head down Howey Street in the Norseman Festival Soap Box Derby Race Sunday morning. The 'water bomber' on the left started out of their lane, but recovered nicely by the finish line.

This might not end well ... The racer in the right lane cuts across the two lanes to the left and ends in a crash with the left-most racer. Everybody was fine, and the crowd watching gave a big cheer.

Is everybody ready? Young drivers get ready to roll in the 3rd annual Soap Box Derby race at Red Lake's Norseman Festival. The cars are provided, the kids just needed to show up with a helmet to take part!

The Knights of Columbus were very busy Sunday morning, serving up heaping helpings of pancakes, sausages, and coffee. People lined up all morning to eat under the family tent on Howey Street.

It's everyone's favourite game - PLINKO! Goldcorp had the Plinko board set up, along with a hands-on gold panning station, and a contest to guess the value of a brick of solid gold, specially crafted for the Norseman Festival.

A plaque was dedicated Saturday night at the Norseman Festival to Robert H. Noorduyn, son of R.B.C Noorduyn, who designed the Norseman float plane specifically for Canadian flying and operating conditions in 1935.

2nd place "Floating Inferno" won the team spirit award - that bright pink dragon trophy in the picture. They were loud and proud - even if they missed the win by under 3 seconds. Good job! You can find additional Norseman photos here.
