During Sioux Lookout's "Walleye Weekend," a free lunch of fresh walleye, corn on the cob, baked beans, bannock and beverage was served to all who showed up! Over 650 Sioux Lookout residents and visitors stopped in for lunch! (June 12/13) It's all about the "slot size" at the Sioux Lookout Walleye Weekend. Each team of two is allowed three fish 'under slot' and just one fish 'over slot.' Anglers watch as officials measure their four fish to be sure they qualify. (Fish are 'tagged' as this is a 'catch and keep' tournament with no live wells nor stringers allowed) (June 12/13) 8 year old, Michaela McCarthy (far right) daughter of CKDR morning personality Richard Mccarthy with sister Sarah and Mom. Michaela donated 30 inches of her hair to Angel Hair For Kids and raised over 13-hundred dollars for the organization as well!! Thanks to all who donated. This big ol' brute tipped the scales at 9.14lbs, giving them an early afternoon big fish lead! Nice catch! The "Survivors Lap" was held indoors due to rain at the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life in Red Lake June 4/5. Red Lake raised over 111 thousand dollars this year!
