One of the all-time greats in Dryden GM Ice Dogs history is moving on to play College hockey.
20-year-old Derek McPhail has committed to the Selkirk Saints in Nelson, B.C.
He will join teammate Patrick Zubick.
McPhail played five seasons with the Ice Dogs and had a franchise record 74-goals, 115-assists in 168 regular season games.
This past March, the native of Thunder Bay watched as his number 21 was raised to the rafters in honour of his on-ice efforts and outstanding contribution off the ice to the City of Dryden.
