It is with broken hearts Emily “Chico” Brown passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2017. Chico leaves behind her loved ones; sons Anthony “Chad” Brown and Ashton George, her mother Pauline Brown, brothers Jamie “Nookie” Brown, Dwayne “Squeak” Brown and Victor “Bo” Brown, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and all of Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation (WLON). She was predeceased by her father John Brown.
Chico liked spending her time with her boys, brothers and mother. She was a home body who enjoyed cleaning, walking, bingo, shopping, fishing, going for bike rides with Ashton, camping, going to powwow’s and styling her mother’s hair with braids. Chico attended Wabigoon Public School and Dryden High School. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. until time of service at the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation Community Hall. A Traditional Service will take place on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation Community Hall with Ralph Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation cemetery.
