In Loving memory of Douglas John Eddison, age 82, who passed away, into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, with his family at his side on early Friday morning, October 20th, 2017 at DRHC.
He was born on July 8th, 1935 in Griquet, Newfoundland. Douglas and Daphne were wed on November 22nd, 1955.
Douglas is survived by his children: Lando (Joy), Don (Lavonne), Hollis (Angela), Whyman (Nancy), Sheena (Murray) of Thunder Bay On, Shawn (Sandra) of Millbrook On, Jackie (John), Lindy (Eleanor), by 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren as well as 8 sisters, 4 brothers and lifelong friend Jerry Fillier.
Douglas was predeceased by his wife Daphne on September 1st, 2013, his grandson Dustin (Dut) Rouillard, 2010, sister in law Margaret Hughes, 2012 and earlier by his parents William and Mary Eddison and in-laws Raymond and Jennie Norman.
He worked construction for about 10 years and in the bush as a skidder operator and wood cutter for 40 plus years. Doug and Daphne relocated their family to Dryden in 1979.
Douglas will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Dryden Community Funeral Home’s Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Full Gospel Church with Pastor Jonathan King and Pastor Velma Henderson officiating.
Interment to follow at the Dryden Cemetery.
