There have been past reports of calls to purchase items such as vehicles, motorcycles, boats, etc. coming out of the United States. They claim to own a shipping company and offer to send a cheque for your asking price, stating that their 'company' will come and pick up the item. The cheque bounces 2-3 weeks later, because international cheques take that long to clear the banks, the item is out of the country, and you will likely never see it again.

CKDR recommends that when dealing with any international sales, or even local ones, DO NOT accept any form of payment you do not feel comfortable with. If you receive a call that sounds suspicious, do not accept the offer. Take steps to protect yourself from potential scams.
